Speed Gun estimates average speed from the real distance traveled and the elapsed video frames. Accurate FPS, distance and ball positions reduce measurement error.
1. Film from the side
Fix the camera close to perpendicular to the pitch, with pitcher and catcher visible. Avoid shake, backlight and dark locations.
2. Confirm distance and FPS
Enter the actual distance and select the video's recording FPS. Check the device settings for slow-motion video.
3. Review the tracked path
Check detected ball candidates and correct the start, end or path when needed. The result is the average speed across the selected interval.
Why results vary
Camera angle, distance errors, unstable frame rates, motion blur and frame selection all affect the result. Compare repeated measurements under the same setup. This does not replace an official radar-gun reading.
Safety and privacy
Keep the pitcher, catcher and bystanders safe, and film where a ball cannot strike people or the device. Obtain consent before filming others. Videos and analysis data are stored in this browser.
